We offer spring snow goose hunts in Missouri and South Dakota. Our hunting and fishing lodge is located in Willow Lake, SD. The day will begin with your guide meeting you early in the morning at a predetermined location. Once you get to the field, your guide will load all your gear and transport you to the snow goose spread. You will then choose your layout blind, load your gun, and prepare to shoot!
If the hunting slows down some in the afternoon it is your option to get a ride back to your vehicle to get some food or warm up. The guide will pick you up when you return.
During the snow goose season we hunt all the legal shooting hours which are from a half hour before sunrise until a half hour after sunset to ensure you get your moneys worth. It is legal to shoot Snows, Blues and Ross geese with an unplugged guns and magazine extensions. If you are looking for some unique birds to mount, this is the time and place to harvest them for the wall!
*Note- Meeting places can change due to where the birds are. During the snow goose season we start in Missouri next to the Squaw Creek NWR and chase the birds until they hit North Dakota. Being that we start hunting in Missouri we are the first ones on the birds and will be continuously moving our decoy spreads to ensure the best odds of a successful hunt. The guide will let you know where to meet. Please call in advance so we can plan accordingly to the migration.
