My name is Derek Garner, I hail from the great state of South Dakota. I am the owner of Prairiestorm Outfitters located in Willow Lake SD on Dry Lake #2. I have been guiding fishing and hunting trips for over 10 years. After my passion drove me to start my own fishing and hunting guide service, I have been an active tournament angler chasing monster walleye and jumbo perch. I love to push my Ranger 620 FS to the limits and put myself and my clients on the fish. I am not just another guide that follows crowds and others success, I love to find my own bites and experience the "Chase" and the catch with my clients! My goal starting Prairiestorm Outfitters was to share my great love of the outdoors with anyone who walks through our doors! I am very driven and motivated as you will see when you meet me. I was involved in a bad tree stand accident a year and a half ago that almost took my life. Hunting and fishing saved my life as it got me back in my groove after i was temporarily paralyzed from the neck down and suffering many other serious injuries. Yes the big man was watching out for me and am very blessed in my second chance at life. I also enjoy my career as a Union Journeyman Lineman at Xcel Energy in Sioux Falls, SD. Some of my hobbies are photography, filming wildlife, spending time with family and friends and yes i am usually always fishing or hunting.
